Reserve Deputy – Marion County Sheriff’s Office
Reserve Deputies include a variety of professionals including nurses, teachers, firefighters, EMT’s, accountants, investment brokers and people who own their own businesses. Reserve officers have the same police powers and are issued the same equipment as MCSO Deputies. The Reserve Division has its own rank structure and deputies are provided the same in-service training as Deputies. A fleet of cars is assigned to the Reserve Division and deputies receive a vehicle based upon the amount of time donated to the department, their availability and their performance. The Reserve Division utilizes cars assigned to the division 24 hours a day.
Each Reserve Deputy must be ILEA certified or have completed the former MCSO Reserve Academy or IMPD Reserve Academy.
The MCSO Reserve Program is a unique opportunity for you to serve the people of Marion County.
