The facility, Marion County Jail II, does not accept property and property cannot be dropped off for inmates. Property may be released only if an inmate has filled out a property release form listing the authorized person picking up the property. The person picking up the property must have a valid driver’s license or state ID. Property may be picked up at the Marion County Jail II Thursday only from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
Sending Money
Deposits can be made to the commissary account within Jail II via the U.S. Mail. Cash, personal or payroll checks are not accepted via the mail. Only Postal Prepaid Money Orders, other accredited prepaid money orders and U.S. Government checks are accepted. The inmate’s name, cell housing unit (cell block number), date of birth and/or Jail ID must appear on the check. Please use this address format when sending money orders to Jail II.
Sending Mail
Inmates in Marion County Jail II can receive mail during the time they are incarcerated. All mail is delivered in person to hose for whom it is addressed. Mail is distributed Monday through Friday. No delivery is made on weekends or holidays. Mail is not delivered to inmates who are unable to produce a valid and legible Jail identification armband. All mail, with exception of “legal mail” is opened and inspected for contraband and security breaches according to federal guidelines. Mail pertaining to legal matters is opened in the presence of the inmate to whom it is addressed.
The inmate address for incoming mail must consist of the inmate’s name that was used at the time of the arrest and processing, their Jail ID number, cell housing number and the Marion County Jail II address using the following format:

Visitation
Visitation occurs at Jail II from Tuesday through Saturday. Regular visits are taken by appointment only and are received one business day in advance of the desired visit day.
The Appointment Line phone number is 317-266-0017 and is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until Noon or until all appointments are full. Visitation sessions start at 8:45 AM and end at 4:15 PM, Tuesday through Friday and start at 7:30 AM and end at 2:15 PM on Saturday.
